Born and raised in Launceston, Tasmania, Janie Finlay has been described as inspirational, visionary and courageous.   Passionate about living a life of adventure and discovery, Janie sets her goals high and loves experiencing the varied outcomes of giving everything she’s got to everything she does. 

Featured in Who magazine, on BBC world news radio, The Panel and twice profiled on New Dimensions with George Negus (epidode 9, episode 22), Janie has twice been a finalist in Telstra’s Business Women’s Award (Tasmania), spoken at numerous international events and in 2002 Janie became Australia’s youngest ever female Mayor 

Janie has had two chapters of two separate books dedicated to telling her story (Carroll, M. (2008). Reinventing the Bush. Australia: ABC Books. Fraser, C. (2008). Politically Correct: Talking to twelve Tasmanian Women. Australia: The Write Business). 

Janie loves hanging out with positive people, working on projects that nourish her and giving back to the community.

In 2009 Janie started working as a business broker for Tasmania's Shepherd and Heap. Excited by the opportunity to support people realise their dreams, Janie is committed to providing exceptional service, ensuring attention to detail and achieving the best outcome possible, for everyone invloved, in each project she undertakes.
